Negotiate

Allows the user to enable or disable the Auto Negotiation
function.

Enabled

- Enabling auto negotiation allows the system to

look at the incoming signal and automatically determine the
link speed and duplex mode of the port's remote device and
adjust accordingly.

Disabled

- Disabling auto negotiation allows the test set to

simulate older Ethernet equipment that does not support auto
negotiation logic.

The

Negotiate

setting is only available for 1G and 2.5G

Optical Ethernet rates and 10M and 100M Electrical rates.

Electrical Ethernet rates require an

Electrical RJ-45 SFP

module.
