Enabling/Disabling OTN Scramble Mode

1. Select the

OTN

tab.

2. Select

Transmit

and

Set

3. Select the

SET 2

button from the Transmit/Set window.

4. Select

Scramble

and then

Enable

Disable

If the Transmit and Receive Settings Control is set to Couple, Scramble is

automatically changed under the Receive settings. If Settings Control is set to

Independent

, then Scramble mode can be changed for the receive signal by

selecting

Receive

SET 1

, and changing the

Scramble

setting.

Disabling both

Forward Error Correction

and

Scrambling

at the same time may

cause a Loss of Frame condition due to a lack of sufficient zero to one transitions for
valid data/clock recovery.

Enabling/Disabling OTN FEC Mode

1. Select the

OTN

tab.

2. Select

Transmit

and

Set

3. Select the

SET 2

button from the Transmit/Set window.

4. Select

Forward Error Correction

and then

Enable

Disable

If the Transmit and Receive Settings Control is set to Couple, FEC is

automatically changed under the Receive settings. If Settings Control is set to

Independent

, then FEC mode can be changed for the receive signal by selecting

Receive

, and changing the

Forward Error Correction

setting.

Disabling both
