A fter send i ng a Request/Command, the remote computer must w a i t for the " nnn > "
prompt before send i ng the next Request/Command, or i t may be i gnored by the M& C
i nterface.
If the 7 2 0 0 i s reset or port conf i gurat i ons have changed, an i nterface c l ear (IF C) needs to
be sent by the contro ll er i n charge (CIC).
4.0 GENE R A L T R ANSM I T/ R ECE I VE FO R MATS
4.1 Wh i t e Sp ace
Spaces (A S CII 3 2 dec i ma l ) are used to separate f i e l ds. W hen the 7 2 0 0 A C U sends
data, f i e l ds are a l w ays separated by one space un l ess otherw i se noted. If the 7 2 0 0
A C U’s response i s severa l f i e l ds fo ll o w ed by a (CR), the l ast f i e l d w ill not have a space
bet w een i t and the (CR).
Input may have more than one space separat i ng f i e l ds. If checksumm i ng i s enab l ed,
ho w ever, add i t i ona l spaces w ill a l ter the checksum. Refer to Sect i on 4.4.
4.2 P os i t i on V ec to r s
Pos i t i on vectors are a l w ays transm i tted by the 7 2 0 0 A C U i n the form of az i muth,
e l evat i on, and po l ar i zat i on, w here the format of the l ook ang l e i s the same as sho w n
on the 7 2 0 0 A C U front pane l d i sp l ay. For s i gned ang l es, a " - " i mmed i ate l y precedes
the ang l e i f i t i s negat i ve. Pos i t i ve s i gned and uns i gned ang l es are i dent i ca l ; there i s no
l ead i ng " + . " The A Z output i s uns i gned. Its range i s 0 ang l e < 3 6 0. The EL and
POL outputs are s i gned: -1 8 0 ang l e < 1 8 0.
A t l east one d i g i t w ill a l w ays be both to the l eft and to the r i ght of the dec i ma l po i nt
(Examp l e: 0.0). POL w ill a l w ays return 0.0 degrees i f d i sab l ed.
