The parameters i n the Re mot e po r t c onf i gu r a t i on... menu contro l remote
commun i cat i ons w i th the 7 2 0 0 A C U v i a i ts ser i a l port(s). The standard A C U has
three ser i a l ports: t w o RS-2 3 2 C ports; (J4 and J 1 1) and an RS-4 2 2 port (J 5).
The 7 2 0 0 A C U supports severa l d i st i nct " she ll s " , or command i nterfaces:
RC M& C - The Request/Command M& C i s a command- li ne mon i tor and contro l
i nterface to the A C U, typ i ca ll y used for computer contro l app li cat i ons.
M T M& C - The Menu Tree M& C i s a command li ne mon i tor and contro l i nterface
to the A C U, typ i ca ll y used for remote contro l app li cat i ons. The M T M& C i s
more operator fr i end l y than the RC M& C.
V i sua l - Th i s i s the menu-dr i ven user i nterface as sho w n on the front pane l of the
A C U. Th i s i s on l y funct i ona l w i th an opt i ona l 7 2 0 0 Remote Contro l Un i t.
TRL - Th i s i s the port used for the track i ng rece i ver i nterface. On l y one port may
support a TRL at any t i me.
PM C U - Th i s i s for the 7 1 5 0 PM C U (opt i ona l ) d i sp l ay. It i s used on the RS-4 2 2
Interface.
Pr i nter - Th i s i s used to connect a ser i a l pr i nter for system l ogg i ng purposes.
