The K e ybo a r d t e st i s used to ver i fy that the keyboard i s operat i ng proper l y. Th i s
may be used e i ther on the A C U front pane l or on an opt i ona l 7 2 0 0 Remote Contro l
Un i t.
The A C U must be i n Standby, and the port that i s to be tested ( i nc l ud i ng the A C U
front pane l ) must be at Operato r or Superv i sor l eve l . Dur i ng th i s test, a ll keys (e.g.,
[ST OP], [RESU ME], and [M AIN]) are d i sab l ed.
To execute the K e ybo a r d t e st , use the fo ll o w i ng procedures.
1. From the M a i n m e nu... , se l ect Ed i t syst e m c onf i gu r a t i on... , F ac to r y t e sts... , and
K e ybo a r d t e st .
2. A prompt appears adv i s i ng the user that the [ST OP], [RESU ME], and [M AIN]
keys are d i sab l ed dur i ng the test. A ns w er yes to proceed w i th the test. Press
[EN TER].
3. A representat i on of the 7 2 0 0 A C U keypad i s dra w n i n the l o w er sect i on of the
d i sp l ay. Press any key and not i ce that the l abe l of the key’s representat i on on
the d i sp l ay i s sho w n i n reverse v i deo; re l eas i ng the key causes the key’s l abe l
on the d i sp l ay to return to norma l v i deo. If more than t w o keys are pressed
s i mu l taneous l y, FAU L T appears i n reverse v i deo on the d i sp l ay. A ll keys must
be re l eased to c l ear the fau l t and a ll o w cont i nuat i on of the test.
4. To end the test, press the [PRIOR] key t w i ce.
