The fan tray is designed to be hot pluggable and it is not necessary to
turn off the power supply unit.
3.
Using a flat-blade screw driver, unscrew the two captive screws on the front
flange of the fan tray.
4.
Move the floppy signal cable to the right so it will not interfere with
removal of the fan tray. Do not disconnect the floppy cable. There is enough
relief in the cable to remove the fan tray without disconnecting it.
5.
Grip the front edge of the fan tray and pull it straight out of the cabinet.
Installing
To install the fan tray, follow the procedures described below:
Fan Tray
1.
Place the fan tray edges into the two U-channels on either side of the
cabinet, under the cardcage. The floppy disk signal cable should be to the
right of the fan tray.
2.
Slide the fan tray into the system so the connector on the back of the
assembly has fully mated with the connector in the cabinet. This is
accomplished when the front flange of the fan tray reaches or very nearly
reaches two small angle brackets on either side of the cabinet.
3.
Using a flat-blade screw driver, screw in the two captive screws attached to
front flange of the fan tray.
4.
Switch ON the power supply unit, if the system is OFF.
5.
With power applied, check that all four fans are spinning.
