immediately to the VP 300. Otherwise, the call appears to the VP
300 as a direct external call.
• Members of hunt groups cannot have any type of forwarding on
their phones without removing themselves from the hunting
pattern. This is a restriction of the PBX. It can be worked around
by giving hunt group members two extensions, one in the hunt
group (not forwarded), and the other a personal line (forwarded).
This requires an additional port in the PBX. If the hunt group
members do not have multiline phones, it also requires an
additional phone.
• When a Superset with busy forwarding has its outgoing only line
in use, an incoming call on another appearance of the Superset
line forwards to the VP 300. Without busy forwarding, these lines
could receive calls on other line appearances while the outgoing
line is in use. This is a restriction of the PBX. It can be worked
around by using a separate extension for outgoing line. This
requires an additional port in the PBX.
Generic 1000,
• The Superset 4’s programmable name, up to ten characters
Generic 1001, or
long, can be programmed only at the phone itself, not in the
Generic 1002
PBX configuration. Each Superset 4 must either have no
programmed name, or have a programmed name that includes the
employee’s mailbox number. This is a requirement for each
Superset 4 that will have full CPI functionality.
• When all VP 300 ports are busy, a call can forward on ring-no-
answer to busy tone. This is because these PBX software releases
do not have a hunt group overflow or permit hunt group queuing
for internal calls.
Generic 1003
• A programmable name, up to 10 characters long, can be
(Prior to D96.7)
programmed for every station extension. Each extension must
either have no programmed name, or have a programmed name
that includes the employee’s extension number. This is a
requirement for every extension that will have full CPI
functionality.
Generic 1003
• The PBX class of service option COV Voice Mail Port forces
(D96.7 or later)
the Superset 4 display to show only the called party’s extension
number for a forwarded call, regardless of any names assigned to
stations. This removes the limitation described above for earlier
versions of Generic 1003.
☞
The class of service option COV Voice Mail Port is present
on earlier Generics but performs no known function prior
to D96.7.
If the VP System is using COV Voice Mail port message waiting
indication, the call processing ports must not use the COV Voice
Mail port class of service option.
