Z-Max Surveying System Operation and Applications Manual

Receiver Memory

The receiver records data internally using an SD Memory Card. The SD (Secure
Digital) Memory Card is a highly-sophisticated memory device about the size of a
postage stamp. SD Memory Cards are non-volatile, solid-state devices so they do not
require power to retain the stored data and have no moving parts to skip or break
down. Weighing less than 2 grams, they offer a powerful combination of small size,
high storage capacity, and fast data transfer.

The duration of data recording on the SD card depends upon the storage capacity of
the card, the recording interval, the data recording mode, and the number of satellites
being tracked. A receiver with a 64 MB SD card recording data at 20 second intervals
with an average of 8 satellites tracked could log about 28 days worth of continuous
data. Standard Z-Max SD memory cards have a capacity of 64Mb. For intensive data
storage requirements, higher capacities are available.
