Z-Max Surveying System Operation and Applications Manual

Data Mode 0 is the default data recording mode and is the normal recording mode
when collecting data during a static or kinematic survey. This mode records raw data
records, ephemeris records, site information, an almanac file, and if desired, an event
file. Recording data continuously at 1-second intervals on a 64 MB SD memory card,
Data Mode 0 can store approximately 2 days worth of data, assuming an average of 8
satellites tracked. Data mode 2 records only position records, a site information file,
and an almanac file. Data mode 2 is not used as a default setting for any surveying
mode.

Data mode 4 is data mode 0 combined with data mode 2. This mode will record
raw data records, ephemeris records, position records, site information, and an
almanac file. Data mode 4 is not used as a default setting for any surveying
mode.

Data modes 5 and 6 are only applicable with RTK. Data mode 5 will store ONLY
the epoch solution record (CBEN data) and the vector solution file (OBEN file).
Data mode 6 combines data mode 0 and data mode 5. Data mode 5 is the best
mode to use when recording trajectory RTK data. Trajectory RTK data is the
primary method for mapping lines or paths the user has traveled. Data mode 6 is
the default data recording mode for surveying individual RTK points.

Figure 4.4 provides a summary of the Data Recording Modes.
