System Guide to Post-process Surveying

4. Mount handheld computer

For kinematic method of data collection, an optional handheld computer and
application software add utility to the system. The handheld computer is
mounted onto the survey pole, as shown in Figure 4.8. A special mounting
bracket for the handheld is typically required when a handheld computer is
used. When mounting the mobile system in a backpack, the handheld
computer must still be secured to the range pole with a bracket but it will also
require a cable to connect the handheld computer to the GPS Receiver
Module which is in the backpack.
