Symptom

Possible Causes

Stuttering or sticking locking shaft
movement, or no locking shaft
response to commands

• Remove the door lock assembly and measure the solenoid coil resistance

while gently manipulating the assembly to try and find an open in the coil.

• Measure the solenoid voltage pulse several times to ensure it is

approximately ±24 V.

• As you measure the solenoid switch voltage, toggle the STS “Door

Solenoid Power” on and off. Ensure that the solenoid switch voltage is

consistent during switching.

• Measure the voltage of the 24 V solenoid switch, the 24 V source, and the

24 V switched on the motor driver CCA to ensure they are all approximately

± 24 V.

• Check the centrifuge motor system for rpm feedback problems. If the

centrifuge is reporting speeds above 60 rpm, the system will not unlock the

solenoid.
