5.5.7 Local Audio Detection
Local Audio Detection
The Local Audio Detection is a feature to detect possible eavesdropping activity. If such activity is
detected it will be stopped. The system will disconnect the ongoing call and start an alarm /
warning signal on the internal alert speaker on the codec. This will prevent audio and video to be
sent from a TANDBERG system without the user noticing.
Local Audio Detection is based on a detection of an acoustical connection between the
loudspeaker system and the microphone(s). If there is no such connection, and the loudspeaker
is disconnected or switched off, it may indicate that the system is configured with the intention to
listen into a confidential conversation/meeting without the noticing from the meeting participants.
On When possible eavesdropping activity is detected, the system will disconnect the
ongoing call and start an alarm/warning signal on the internal alert speaker on the
codec.
Off The local audio detection is switched off.
The default setting for Local Audio Detection is Off.
NOTE! This setting is available from xml and web configuration.
Check List – Security features that also can prevent eavesdropping:
•
Auto answer with microphone off. If auto answer is used TANDBERG recommends
enabling it with microphone off when answered.

Access codes. Usage of Access Codes makes it impossible to dial any number and use
the system without entering the correct password.
•
Camera standby mode. When activated, the camera will pan all the way to the right when
the system is in standby mode. Whenever the camera goes out of standby mode, the
user will notice as the camera will move to preferred setting.
