Hemispherical Probe

The hemispherical probe (see Figure 4.16) is
used with the standard quartz stage to obtain
softening point data on substances. It is in-
stalled, operated, and calibrated using the same
procedures as the standard expansion and
penetration probes. Refer to Chapter 2 “Install-
ing the TMA 2940” for information on installa-
tion.
