ChatON
Samsung’s instant messaging app C hatON is a fully
featured service with plenty of style
Samsung’s IM app
C hatON is a brilliant instant
messaging service that
you can use to start a
conversation with anyone
in your
C ontacts app who is
also on the service, or invite
a group of them so that
you can all speak together
at once, as well as send a
range of multimedia fi les
along with special animated
messages to boot.
Add a Buddy
One of the most notable
functions available in
Samsung’s
C hatOn
messaging service is the
one that enables you to add
a Buddy from your
C ontacts
list. If the related phone number belongs to a C hatON user, then it
will be automatically shown in your Buddy list. Y ou are also able to
search for people to add as Buddies using their Samsung account
email address.
Alternatively, you can choose to add a Buddy manually. In
order to do so, tap on the Buddies button seen at the top of
the screen, and then tap on the + sign
j ust to the right of the
Search window at the top of the screen. H aving done this, four
new buttons will appear. Type your Buddy’s phone number by
tapping on
P hone number and inserting the number in the
E nter phone number box. If your contact doesn’t have C hatON then
Write messages
Send message to friends and family
Get info from Contacts
Bypass Buddy registration and get friends’
details directly from the Contacts app
Group chats
Invite a selection of friends to a group chat
Broadcast messages
Send out a message to all of your contacts
Share media
Send multimedia messages such as video,
images and GPS tags
