Applications
These are the key applications that you will be using
every day with your Samsung Galaxy device
Settings The Settings area, accessible via its app icon or by pressing the
M enu button from the home screen and selecting Settings, allows you
to control every aspect of your device.
Email Samsung’s E mail app is a useful tool for managing multiple email
accounts, allowing you to direct all your mail to one handy app with full
search, folder and labelling capabilities.
Samsung Apps Samsung Apps is a portal to apps and games that
offers many discounts and deals as well as a fresh system of categories,
including apps selected by Samsung and featured collections.
Music Y ou can play all your tunes from within the M usic app or by
adding its widget to your home screen, and you can also have some fun
with Samsung’s mood-based track selector called
M usic S q uare.
Phone The mainstay of mobile devices, your Samsung Galaxy also has
its cornerstone P hone app. Y ou can dial directly using the keypad or
start typing names to find your saved contacts.
Messages M essages allows you to keep in touch with everyone
important to you. Y ou can send S M S or MM S messages, and make calls
by simply lifting your phone during a text conversation.
Play Store Google P lay is the main hub for content on your Samsung
Galaxy device. H ere you can browse, download and share apps, games,
movies, music, books and magazines.
Video Supporting subtitles and a range of file formats, V ideo P layer is
your Samsung Galaxy’s main viewing screen. Y ou can browse the files
on your device, q ueue videos up and hit play.
Contacts The C ontacts app is a powerful tool that amalgamates your
contacts data saved in a range of places, including Google, F acebook
and L inkedIn, and provides q uick access to calls and messages.
ChatON C hatON is Samsung’s multimedia messaging service, featuring
a wealth of emoticons, enhancements and plug-ins ranging from
frames to fonts, as well as a Buddy system for
q uick notifications.
Hangouts Google’s new messaging service neatly wraps its
predecessors into a neat, functional app that lets you carry on the
conversation you’re having in your
C ircles on your Galaxy device.
