detailed at the bottom of the screen, and swiping left and right will
take you through all of the results, while simultaneously highlighting
their position on the map. Tapping the
L ist icon that appears in the
search box gives you all the results in list form, ordered by proximity.
Traffi c and transport
Google M aps has long had support for live traffi c information, and
this has been further developed in the latest version of the app.
F rom the main map screen swipe from the very far left edge of
the screen to open the sidebar. The fi rst option on the list is Traffi c.
Tapping this adds live traffi c information to the map, with colour
coding on ma j or roads: green shows traffi c fl owing normally, yellow
suggests heavy traffi c but no delays, and red indicates delays. Traffi c
incidents are also reported. A road sign icon appears on the map,
and tapping it opens a pop-up window revealing the nature of the
incident as well as guidance on how this will a
ff ect your travel plans.
If you’re not driving you can also access public transport information
within the app. Open the sidebar once again and select the second
option.
Y ou’ll now see routes and stations for various types of
transport as well as, in supported regions, schedule information.
