pH integration time 0 - 1000 sec.
0: The integration time is disabled.
1 -> 100 -> 300: The degree to which the controller will aim to achieve an equilibrium
in operating the pH dosage valves.
When there is no difference between the measured pH and calculated pH
setpoint, the integration time ensures that the correct quantities of acid and
lye (alkali) are dosed.
Adjusting the pH level with a dosage valve
Set the pH setpoint for the valve group. Make sure that the gain is set to 20, and
the integration time is set to 100.
Start an irrigation cycle using the valve group.
Monitor the trend of the measured pH (control pH) in relation to the calculated
pH setpoint in the 'Activities' summary.
Calibrate the dosage valve as follows:
1. How to set the optimum gain:
If differences between the measured pH and calculated pH setpoint are
quickly corrected, proceed to step 2.
If the measured pH swings high above the calculated pH setpoint, adjust
the gain to a lower value (at least 15).
If it takes too long for the measured pH to match the calculated pH
setpoint, adjust the gain to a higher value (up to 300).
2. How to set the optimum Integration time:
Make sure the integration time is not set too low if the water remains in
the mixer tank for a long period of time. Generally, it can be said that
the integration time should equal 2/3 x time (sec.) that the water
remains in the mixer tank.
If the measured pH equals the calculated pH setpoint, the integration time
is set at the optimum value.
If the two values differ and it takes too long for measured pH to reach the
calculated pH setpoint, then adjust the integration time to a lower value
(at least 15).
If the two values differ and the measured pH keeps fluctuating around the
calculated pH setpoint, then adjust the integration time to a higher value
(up to 300).
