5.3. Temporary KEY LOCK release
KEY LOCK settings are stored in the player’s Flash Memory,
so operation statuses are preserved even when power is
switched from OFF to ON. However, the KEY LOCK settings
can be temporarily released if necessary to change discs or
to change other settings.
To temporarily release the unit from KEY LOCK settings, si-
multaneously hold the main unit’s
RETURN
,
«
, and
SCAN/
SKIP
1 4
buttons depressed for 2 seconds (this KEY
LOCK release operation can be performed during playback if
desired).
This releases all KEY LOCK and TRAY LOCK settings, allow-
ing commands and buttons to be used normally. Note that
this operation is only a temporary release of the KEY LOCK
settings, however, and the settings themselves remain un-
changed in the Flash Memory. As a result, if power is turned
OFF and then ON again, the previously input KEY LOCK set-
tings will be restored.
From the temporary KEY LOCK release condition, the KEY
LOCK settings can also be restored by once again holding
the main unit’s
RETURN
,
«
, and
SCAN/SKIP
1 4
but-
tons depressed simultaneously for 2 seconds.
Important
During the temporary KEY LOCK release condition, if the
ADV.
SETUP
menu is opened and the KEY LOCK settings are
changed, the temporary KEY LOCK release status will be re-
stored when the
ADV. SETUP
menu is closed. To enable the
new settings, you must exit the temporary KEY LOCK re-
lease status.
5.4. KEY LOCK exceptions
The main unit’s
LCD
button is not affected by the KEY LOCK
settings. As a result, even if [
FRONT KEY
] is set to [
Disable
],
the
LCD
button will continue to operate normally, allowing
switching of the LCD display.
