Chapter 4 Failure Analysis

4.4.04 Tips for Preventing Image Problems

1. Make sure that the ribbon is not "dried out". If the printer output is faded, install a new ribbon, then print
another sample.

2. Make sure that the paper you are using is within specifications.

Paper specifications can be found in

Section 1 of this Service Handbook

3. Always place the Head Gap Lever in the position appropriate for the paper that you are using.
