Cleaning
Regularly clean the server to keep it in good condition.
WARNING
Be sure to observe the following precautions to use the server safety. Failure to
observe the precautions may cause death or serious injury. For details, refer to
Safety precautions in Precautions for Use in User’s Guide .
• Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the server.
•
Disconnect the power plug before cleaning the server.
2.5.1
Cleaning the server
Wipe the external surfaces of the server with a dry soft cloth. Follow the procedure below if stains remain on
the surfaces.
Important •
Do not use volatile solvents such as thinner and benzene to clean the
server. Those solvents could damage or tarnish the material.

The power outlet, cables, connectors on the rear panel of the server, and
the inside of the server must be kept dry.
1. Shut down all the server modules installed in this server.
2. Unplug the power cord of the server from a power outlet.
3. Confirm that the POWER LED is off.
4. Wipe off dust from external surface of the server with a dry cloth.
5. Soak a soft cloth in neutral detergent that is diluted with cold or lukewarm water, and squeeze it firmly.
6. Rub off stains on the server with the cloth prepared in step 5.
7. Soak a soft cloth in water, squeeze it firmly, and wipe the server with it once again.
8. Wipe the server with a dry cloth.
