Cushion is the point where the accumulator stopped with pushed out. Cushion is often set to leave a small
amount of material in the accumulator at the end of the push out to insure that the accumulator does not
bottom out before all of the plastic required for programmed portion of the parison is extruded.
As the total accumulator stroke has been made equal to a Shot Size setting of 100%, the total of the
equation
Shot Size + Shot Size x Delay
+ Shot Size x Cushion
must be equal to or less than 100% of the actual maximum accumulator stroke.
