Programming a PainSmart

pump with Protocol Library

Safety System (PLSS) Version

2 program

Refer to Protocol Library Safety Software manual, part number 360-7042

Set tubing must be installed for pump to run.

Press the and keys to scroll through the menu, and press the

YES

key to accept/confirm a

field entry and the

key to reject/change a field entry.

Note: Library therapies may have soft or hard limits set for various values.

For PCA therapies: Hard or soft limit settings may be set for Max Basal Rate, Max Patient Bolus

Amt, and Min Bolus Interval. Hard limits may be set for Max Load Dose.

Note:

A warning screen will display if a value is entered that is out of range of the soft limit

setting(s) for a downloaded therapy. The screen will ask the user to override the soft limit value.
