6. After the engine has started,
remove jum per cables by
exactly reversing the above
installation sequence, starting
with the last connection made
first. When rem oving each
clamp, make sure that it does
not touch any other m etal while
the other end is still attached.
Important!
A discharged battery can freeze at
approx. +14°F (-1 0°C ). In that
case, it m ust be thawed out before
jum per cables are used. A frozen
battery can explode and cause
personal injury.
Jum per cable specifications:
• Minimum cable cross-section of
25 m m 2 or approx. 2 AW G
• M aximum length of 11.5 ft.
(3.5 m).
Note:
If engine does not run after several
unsuccessful starting attem pts,
have it checked at the nearest
authorized M ercedes-Benz dealer.
Excessive unburned fuel may
dam age the catalytic converter.
All except Sport Package
Towing the Vehicle
The rear towing eye is located at
the right, below the bumper. The
front tow ing eye is located on the
passenger side behind the grille in
the bum per panel.
Grille rem oval for all except Sport
Package version: Hold left and
right end of grille (1) and pull out.
G rille installation for all except
Sport Package version: Position
grille and press in securely.
S port Package
G rille rem oval for Sport Package
version: Pull on top end of grille
sim ultaneously pushing apron
(arrow) up.
Grille installation for Sport
Package: Position bottom end of
grille and press in securely
sim ultaneously pushing apron
(arrow) up.
W e recom m end that the vehicle be
transported using flat bed equip­
ment. This m ethod is preferable to
other types of towing.
