Engine Oils
Engine oils are specifically tested
for their suitability in our engines.
Therefore, use only engine oils
recomm ended by Mercedes-Benz.
Information on recom m ended
brands is available at your autho­
rized M ercedes-Benz dealer.
Please follow Service Booklet
recom m endations for scheduled oil
changes. Failure to do so could
result in engine dam age not
covered by the M ercedes-Benz
Limited W arranty.
Engine Oil Additives
Do not blend oil additives with
engine oil. They may be harmful to
the engine operation.
Damage or m alfunctions resulting
from blending oil additives are not
covered by the M ercedes-Benz
Limited W arranty.
A ir C onditioner R efrigerant
R-134a (HFC) refrigerant and
special PAG lubricating oil is used
in the air conditioner system.
Never use R-12 (CFC) or mineral-
based lubricating oil, otherwise
dam age to the system will occur.
Brake Fluid
During vehicle operation, the
boiling point of the brake fluid is
continuously reduced through the
absorption of m oisture from the
atm osphere. U nder extrem ely hard
operating conditions, this moisture
content can lead to the form ation of
bubbles in the system thus reduc­
ing the system ’s efficiency.
The brake fluid m ust therefore be
replaced every two years, prefer­
ably in the spring.
It is recom m ended to use only
brake fluid approved by M ercedes-
Benz. Y our authorized M ercedes-
Benz dealer will provide you with
additional inform ation.
