Prior to operating the vehicle, the
driver should adjust the seat height
for proper vision as well as fore/aft
placem ent and backrest angle to
insure adequate control, reach,
operation, and com fort. The head
restraint should also be adjusted
for proper height. See also airbag
section for proper seat positioning.
In addition also adjust the steering
wheel to ensure adequate control,
reach, operation, and com fort.
Both the inside and outside rear
view m irrors should be adjusted for
adequate rearward vision.
Fasten seat belts. Infants and
sm all children should be seated in
a properly secured restraint
system.
All seat, head restraint, steering
wheel, and rear view mirror
adjustm ents as well as fastening of
seat belts should be done before
the vehicle is put into motion.

Heated Seats
(optional)
The seat heater sw itches are
located in the center console.
The seat heaters can be switched
on with the key in steering lock
positions 1 o r 2.
Press switch to turn on seat heater:
1 Normal seat heating mode. One
indicator lam p in the switch
lights up.
2 Rapid seat heating m ode. Both
indicator lam ps in the switch
light up. A fter approxim ately
5 m inutes in the rapid seat
heating m ode, the seat heater
autom atically sw itches to normal
operation and only one indicator
lamp will stay on.
Turning off seat heater:
If one indicator lamp is on, press
upper half of switch.
If both indicator lam ps are on,
press low er half of switch.
If left on, the seat heater autom ati
cally turns off after approxim ately
30 m inutes of operation.
Note:
W hen in operation, the seat heater
consum es a large am ount of elec
trical power. It is not advisable to
use the seat heater longer than
necessary.
The seat heaters m ay autom atical
ly switch off if too m any power
consum ers are switched on at the
sam e tim e, or if the battery charge
is low. W hen this occurs, the indi
cator lamp in the switch will blink
(both indicator lam ps blink during
rapid seat heating mode). The seat
heaters will switch on again
autom atically as soon as sufficient
voltage is available.
If the blinking of the indicator lamps
is distracting to you, the seat
heaters can be switched off.
