Monitor Output Selection
The monitor output on the Model 370 is a tool to help the user diagnose measurement problems. The output can be set to
monitor test voltages from several points inside the instrument. The monitor voltages are often used with the reference
output. An explanation of these voltage is given with other troubleshooting information in Paragraph 8.7.
Monitor Output Voltages
Off
Output grounded to measurement common
CS NEG
AC voltage driving negative side of current source programming resistor
CS POS
AC voltage driving positive side of current source programming resistor
VAD
DC voltage into the AD converter
VCM NEG
AC voltage on the negative side of the differential input amplifier
VCM POS
AC voltage on the positive side of the differential input amplifier
VDIF
AC voltage output of the differential input amplifier
VMIX
Conditioned AC input voltage at input of the product detector
The next instrument setup screen appears as a prompt for the monitor output voltage setting.

Range and Excitation Keys for One or All Channels
When a scanner is attached, the range and excitation keys are normally used to change parameters for the active scanner
channel. If all of the resistors connected to the scanner are the same, it is convenient for these changes to affect all
channels at the same time. The Model 370 allows the user to configure the range and excitation keys to change one
channel at a time or all channels at once. Similar operation is available for input parameters under the
Input Setup
key
by selecting the channel designator “All”.
The next instrument setup screen appears as a prompt for the input change keys setting.

OPTIONAL SCANNER OPERATION
The Model 370 automatically identifies the Model 3716/L or 3708 Scanner when it is powered up with the scanner
attached. It is easy to tell if the instrument has recognized the scanner because the word “Scan” and the active channel
number appear on the top line of the display. When the scanner is attached operation related to the resistance
measurement input changes slightly. This paragraph summarizes scanner operation although most of the operation is
addressed in the individual feature paragraphs.
4.8.1
Channel On or Off
If any of the 16 scanner channels are skipped during channel selection or other selection operations those channels may
have been turned off. To turn on the channels refer to Paragraph 4.6.6.
