Lake Shore Model 370 AC Resistance Bridge User’s Manual

3.9 RELAY

CONNECTION

The Model 370 has two relays normally associated with the high and low alarm features. Each relay has a normally open
(NO), common (COM) and normally closed (NC) contact for a total of 6. All of these connections are electrically
isolated from all other circuits in the Model 370. The relay is in its normal state when it is Off and in its active state when
it is On. When power to the instrument is turned off, the relay stays in the normal state.

A detachable terminal block provides alarm relay connections which are rated at 30V DC, 5A. The mate is a 6 position
terminal block included with the instrument (Lake Shore P/N 106-737). The terminal block accepts up to 12 gauge wire
but smaller wire is adequate for most applications.

3.10 RACK

MOUNTING

The Model 370 can be installed into a 19-inch rack mount cabinet using the optional Lake Shore Model RM-1 Rack-
Mount Kit. The kit contains mounting ears, handles and screws that adapt the front of the instrument to fit into a 3.5 inch
tall, full rack space. Additional support may be required in the rear of the instrument and to relieve strain on heavy
cables. The mounting ears are painted and do not guarantee good electrical contact between the instrument and cabinet.
They should not be used for ground strapping unless paint is removed from under all screws.
