4.6.4.2.6. Scan Pause at
Select an event which will automatically inter-
rupt the scanning process. Since only events can
be used which have occurred before the currently scanned image, a narrowed down version of the
event list (
see chapter
) is presented here.
4.6.4.2.7. Shorter Than/Longer Than
Use these two fields to set the trigger points for
the two events
Shorter Than
and
Longer Than
.
Possible length values range from
60 mm
up to
500 mm
. Please note that values
above 270 mm
may only be used in combination with the
Scan Pause at
function, described above.
4.6.4.2.8. Optimized Gap/Additional Feeding Gap
Optimized Gap
is activated by default and will
ensure the highest possible document throug-
hput. Deactivating this option will prevent the
optical sensors in the scanner’s input section
from optimizing document gaps. This might be advisable if there are increased paper jams in the scan-
ner’s input section (
see chapter
) when processing heavy duty documents, and might also help
when scanning glossy documents. However, this setting will cause broader gaps between documents,
which in turn will lower document throughput. Please note that for occasional issues with difficult
and glossy documents, you may use the special control key
Opt. Gap Next Off
(
see chapter
If deactivating gap optimization still produces unsatisfactory results or if there are possible issues
with paper output when using very light paper qualities, it may be of help to further increase the gap
between documents. Use field
Additional Feeding Gap
to extend the gap by up to
100 mm
.
4.6.4.2.9. Manual Feed Lag
This setting specifies the grace period available
for placing additional documents in the active
input tray, before having to re-start the scanning process. The scanner will send an out-of-paper no-
tification to the attached scan-software once this period has passed.
