Capacitive Touchscreen
User Manual H12 / SCAMAX® 8x1 - Version 2019.12
Please note: On the one hand, the use of the
Toggle-Mode
will simplify document preparation, since
e.g. only one patch code type needs to be inserted, to effectively switch between two image types.
On the other hand, the resulting sequencing might confuse scan operators if the scan process is in-
terrupted for any reason, e.g. by a scan pause or an error.
The last field on this configuration screen deter-
mines what happens to images which are not
utilized, as a result of the settings in
Stream Control
. Initially, all three
streams are generated and then processed according to this setting.
Default setting
Remove
will only let the desired image type through and
discard all others. Selecting
Mark
will transmit all streams, but it will tag
unwanted images, in their metadata. This information can then be used
by scan software to determine appropriate treatment (
e.g., it could set deletion markers
). Selecting
Replace by White Image
will also transmit all streams, but it will replace unwanted images with uni-
formly small and white images. This setting might be useful whenever the scan software neither
supports mixed streams nor has the ability to interpret tagged metadata. All it will need to do instead,
is to apply blank page detection and remove any small, white images.
On the
Events
screen, you
can define various me-
thods for event driven
switching of image type.
Three drop-down fields
are available, per image
type, which will each let
you select an item from
the event list (
see chapter
). Your choices will de-
termine the exact method
of switching used. These
methods will be discus-
sed in more detail below,
using a color image as an
example.
The mask pictured here is
graphically edited, becau-
se it exceeds the display
area of the touchscreen..
This method will permanently switch to image
type
Color
, whenever the selected event occurs.
This setting will remain active until it is overridden by another method.
This method will temporarily switch to image
type
Color
, whenever the selected event occurs.
The switch to Color will only apply to images belonging to the document triggering the event. Sub-
sequent documents will revert to the previous image type.
The third method, too, will temporarily switch
to image type Color. Here, however, the switch
to Color is only applied to images of the document following directly after the document triggering
the event. For example, if
bitonal
was set as the
Default Stream
(
see previous page
), then a patch code
triggering this method would remain bitonal, whereas the document following the patch code would
be switched to Color. Subsequent documents would revert to bitonal again.
