Capacitive Touchscreen
User Manual H12 / SCAMAX® 8x1 - Version 2019.12
If all fields on this screen have been deactivated, then Toggle-Mode must have been selected, using
field
Toggle at
(
see previous page
). Conversely, if any fields on this screen are selected first, both Tog-
gle fields on screen
General
will be deactivated.
The settings on this screen
will determine the out-
come of the built-in
De-
tection
of image types.
If Detection isn’t already
selected as the
Default
Stream
, then it may be
activated later on, by an
event specified in the up-
permost field. It can also
be re-activated through
this setting, should some
other event have caused a switch to another image type, beforehand. As always, you may choose an
item from the event list (
see chapter
Since the default image type is always
bitonal
, whenever Detection is
active, the three lower fields will allow you to selectively switch over to
color or gray, depending on results from the built-in detection process.
Background is Colored
is based on the analysis of the image background,
whereas
Any Color Detected
responds to color information found in the
image foreground.
Likely Unsafe Binarization
is based on a threshold value, indicating that too much
detail information would be lost when converting this image to black and white.
Use the four fields on this
screen to modify the basic
operating parameters of
the built-in Detection me-
chanism described earlier.
Please note that unsuitab-
le settings may spoil pro-
per operation of the entire
detection process. There-
fore, any changes made
should be immediately
verified using representa-
tive sample documents.
Color Threshold
essentially corresponds to the
amount of color information found on an image,
i.e. the higher the threshold the more color information is required, before classifying an image as
being Color.
The next two fields influence detection sensiti-
vity.
Color Sensitivity
, too, is a threshold value.
It determines the amount of color deviation re-
quired, with respect to neutral grayscale shades,
before classifying an image as being Color. However, in this case, the higher the threshold value, the
less deviation from grayscale is required. Checking
Luminance Dependency
will dynamically reduce
Color Sensitivity
, whenever image areas are lighter or darker than the mean value.
