3.2.
Setting Up the Device
Since the device was partially dismantled for shipment, the unpacking and setting up of the scanner
is carried out
exclusively
by an
authorized expert
for this.
As work place a location shall be selected, at which the scanner is not exposed to direct sunlight,
chemicals or vibration. The room temperature should not be below 10°C and not above 35°C. The
relative humidity without condensation should be between 30% and 80%. The scanner should not
be subjected to abrupt temperature or humidity changes.
Make sure that the scanner is on a flat, stable surface that is designed or has been prepared for the
weight of the device (
up to 240 kg
) and that behind the device there remains enough space for the
connection and opening of the unit.
To secure the device against unintentional
displacement, the two Locking Brakes can be
locked on the front of the feet by applying
a large force from the top by foot. To release
press firmly from the front by foot.
3.3.
Relocating the unit
Since an operational H12 will not fit through a standard doorway, it is usually necessary to partly
dismantle it, before moving the scanner to a new location. Therefore, in most cases, relocating the
unit will
require assistance
by an
authorized expert
.
Even if the scanner can be moved to its new des-
tination without disassembly, it will nonetheless
be necessary to re-apply the transport protection
it originally came with. This consists of four red
plastic mouldings which need to be clipped onto
the frame either side of the scan plane, as shown to
the left. These transport protectors will prevent ac-
cidental misalignment of the upper housing, when
moving the unit over rough or uneven surfaces.
Before actually moving the scanner, it is also necessary to set it to its lowest working height (
see chapter
). When pushing the unit along, please make sure to only apply force to the lower housing of the
scanner. Any lateral forces applied to the top housing may cause misalignment.
