The Link Channel Display
This display is used to link DSP processing on the Sy80 card:
Up to 77 Link groups may be created, and the channels within
each group operate as a ganged link. In other words, adjust one
channel to adjust all channels in the group.
Links between channels are relative. For example, a change of
EQ level from -8 to -4dB will add 4dB to the level of linked EQs
in the group.
If you need to adjust the relative balance between linked
channels, you can temporarily disable the link, see Page 331.
Also note the following points on channel linking:
•
Only channels of the same type can be linked; for
example, you cannot link input channels to Auxes.
•
For any channel type, you can link Faders and Mutes.
•
On input channels, you can also link Delay (if assigned),
Gate, Compressor and Equaliser sections.
•
On output channels, you can link Delay (if assigned),
and any internal processing (one of the 16 floating DSP
paths) inserted on the channel.
•
To link output processing provided by a UM8 card use
the Link I/O display, see Page 332.
•
On Smart Fader or Smart Bus VCA channels, you can
link the master VCA faders and mutes. To link individual
channel processing, press
SEL
to deploy the slaves;
you can then select the individual component channels.
•
Channel links are saved and recalled from a Page.
