xSeries 455 Planning and Installation Guide

6. Select Normal Flash - All subsystems and press Enter. This option will flash

all management code in the system. You will see the following components
updated:

– System Management Adapter Boot ROM
– System Management Adapter Main Application
– Remote Graphics Application
– Integrated Systems Management Processor Application
– RXE-100 Remote Expansion Enclosure Application (if installed)

7. Press Esc to return to the main menu and quit the utility.

4.1.5 Configuration/Setup utility

Select Configuration and Setup Utility from the EFI Firmware Boot Manager
menu (see Figure 4-2 on page 94) to configure internal options. Figure 4-22 is
displayed.

These options are similar to those available on IA-32 systems. They are well laid
out and fairly self explanatory.

Enabling memory mirroring

Memory mirroring is part of IBM’s Active Memory technology and provides an
additional level of fault tolerance to the memory subsystem. For detailed
information and guidelines on memory mirroring, see “System memory” on
page 14.
