xSeries 455 Planning and Installation Guide

4.4.8 RXE-100 Expansion Enclosure

The RXE-100 Expansion Enclosure is now fully supported under Linux. The x455
will recognize any device attached to any of the 12 RXE-100 slots. You do not
need to disconnect the RXE-100 before installing Linux.

As you can see in Figure 4-52 on page 173, all the PCI slots are recognized,
including the 12 external PCI slots.

Tip: In the case of SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 8 you can easily view all
your recognized PCI devices with the YaST tool. To invoke YaST, simply enter

yast

at the command prompt, then go to the Hardware and PCI information.
