Clutch adjustment
The control Iever must have a 0.12 ÷ 0.20 in. idle stroke before beginning to
disengage the clutch. To adjust this slack, remove the rubber cap (1), Ioosen
the lock nut (2) and operate the adjuster (3). The slack decreases when
unscrewing, and increases when screwing. Take care to tighten proper]y the
Iock nut. If difficulties arise in reaching the optimum value, turn adjuster
Iocated on the crankcase.
In case the clutch disk were replaced, clutch shall be adjusted as follows:

Set the clutch rod (4) in the slot of the primary shaft then, set the thrust cup
(5) with the balI engaged (6);
- Install the friction disk (7). Put first a Iined disk, then alternatively a non lined
disk with a Iined disk. Total quantity is eight Iined disks with seven no-Iined
disks;

Install the bearing (8), the washer (9), disk thrust plate (10) with six springs
and relative bolts (11) with washers (tightening torque 7,3 ft-Ib.);
- Set the clutch Iever keeping a distance L=4.35 ÷ 4.43 in., on the crankcase
(FIGURE 1).
- Using a flat screwdriver on the screw (a), tighten the jam nut (b);
- ReinstalI the clutch cover (tightening torque: 9,3 Nm/ 0,95 Kgm/ 6.9 ft-lb), fill
with the necessary quantity of oil (see page A.16) and check the oil level;
- Adjust the clearance of the control Iever placed on the handlebar.
L=110,5÷112,5 mm
(4.35 ÷ 4.43 in.)
