The following fuels are not permitted:
- Sulphur containing fuel with more than 0.001 % of sulphur by weight
-
Marine Diesel Fuel
- Aviation fuel
- Fuel oils
- Fatty Acid Methyl Ester FAME (Bio diesel fuel)
These types of fuel will cause irreversible damage to engine and exhaust gas after-treatment
system and will also considerably reduce the expected lifetime.
For further information please refer to:
Operating instructions for “MTU diesel engines” (Fuels and lubricants, page 60)
AdBlue: Use only AdBlue/DEF acc. to DIN 70070/ISO 22241.
Do not use any additives.
If AdBlue comes into contact with paint finished surfaces, clean the affected areas immediately
with lots of water.
•
AdBlue must not get into contact with skin, eyes or clothes.
•
If AdBlue has come into contact with eyes or skin, rinse these areas immediately with clear
water.
•
If AdBlue has been swallowed, immediately clean your mouth with lots of clear water and
drink lots of water.
•
Immediately change any clothes that had been in contact with AdBlue.
•
In case of allergic reactions you should immediately consult a physician.
•
Keep AdBlue out of the reach of children.
More detailed information can be found in the operating instructions for “MTU diesel engines” (Fuels and
lubricants, page 62)
14.1.7 Filling in fuel / AdBlue
Caution when handling fuel and AdBlue.
Shut down the engine. Do not smoke.
• Shut down the engine before refuelling.
• The filling socket is closed with the tank filler cap.
• The tank is ventilated through a hole in the tank filler cap.
• Before removing the tank filler cap clean the area around it from crop residues and dust.
Fuel tank capacity:
approx. 400 litres
AdBlue tank capacity: approx. 25 litres
Take care when handling fuel and AdBlue; it is easily inflammable. When refuelling do not smoke and make sure
that no naked flames or spark sources are nearby.
Only refuel outdoors. Avoid fire by keeping the machine free of dirt and grease residues.
Always wipe off any spilled fuel and AdBlue.
Refill the fuel and AdBlue tanks every day after the end of work, to avoid the formation of condensation water and
freezing under cold conditions.
With the ignition switched on check the fuel level (3) and the AdBlue level (2) in the info terminal, page “Fuel level gauge”.
