The node address cannot be changed during operation as the Gateway needs a reset for the changes
to take effect.

A protective cover is located above the rotary switches. Be careful not to damage or touch the circuit
board underneath when the cover is removed.
Pin Assignment
The Pin Assignment of the Communicator is de-
pendent on the used network protocol.
Ethernet, EtherCAT and Profinet are using an Ether-
net cable with RJ45 plugs according to their speci-
fications.
All knots within a Profinet-network need a common
ground with the chassis. To ensure this, the pins 4,
5, 7 and 8 have to be connected with the housing
ground
Profibus uses a 9-pin Sub-D-Plug that is assigned
according to

. A maximum current of 80 mA can be drawn from pins 5 and 6, for example to
supply optical transceivers.
Sense-Connection
The Sense connection is used for voltage measurement directly at the load. It is used to compensate
for the voltage drop on the load cables. This enables a higher reproducibility when setting the voltage,
as it is applied to the test object independent of the flowing current and the characteristics of the
cables. Each channel has a sense connection for this purpose. For CH1 these are the terminals X11-1
and X11-2, for CH2 X12-1 and X12-2
