BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS - HARPOON 2
It is essential to read right through the safety notes and building
instructions. Study them with the greatest care, and do not
proceed unless you understand them completely!
The Harpoon 2 is a development of the original Harpoon. It still retains the basic shape and configuration
of its predecessor, but now features canards which provide a further improvement in the model’s flying
characteristics. The new fuselage incorporates a large hatch at the front of the fuselage / canopy area,
providing better access, simplifying the installation of the turbine system and RC electronics, and making
the installation more comprehensible. Although the Harpoon 1 exhibited no structural problems, the
manufacturer has managed to optimise various aspects of construction to reflect the latest state of
technology. Various complicated and / or difficult procedures are now also carried out with great
precision at the factory, including fitting the wing retainers, installing the control surface horns and fitting
the canopy retainer system and latch, and these modifications have reduced the overall building effort and
time required considerably. The model is available in two colour schemes.
Important note:
The building instructions for the Harpoon 2 are based on the earlier instructions supplied with the
previous version of the model, which means that the second section - the Appendix - only covers important
changes and new procedures. Most of the difficult stages have been completed by the manufacturer, but in
any case they are also covered by the Harpoon 1 instructions. The expanded building instructions also
describe and illustrate virtually every stage of building. In most cases you will find that the photos are
easier to understand than complex text instructions. Before you start building the model it is essential to
read right through the instructions, from start to finish, and to study the illustrated procedures.
The construction of this model requires a high level of technical knowledge, manual skill and piloting
experience. Operating a model with a jet engine calls for a highly circumspect approach and specialised
technical expertise. Please read and observe the Safety Notes in the Operating Instructions.
