Introducing the GigaVUE-TA40 Chassis
This section describes the physical layout of the GigaVUE-TA40 chassis, including a
description of all ports and connectors. The GigaVUE-TA40 chassis consists of a 1RU,
rack-mountable, 19”-wide chassis with management, network, and tool ports at the
front and power connections at the rear.
Figure 1-2 shows the ports at the front of the
GigaVUE-TA40 chassis. Refer to Table 1-2 for a description of each of the ports.

Console and Mgmt Ports
40Gb Ports
GigaVUE-TA40 Traffic Aggregator includes 32 40Gb ports (q1..q32) suitable for use as tool ports for aggregated output to a
matching 40Gb port on a GigaVUE H Series node.
You can also configure card modes that let a 40Gb port operate as four logical 10Gb ports. Once configured, cable a 40Gb port
operating as four 10Gb ports to an optical patch panel or breakout panel, which takes a 40Gb QSFP+ input from the GigaVUE-TA40
and splits it to four independent 10Gb output ports.
Console Port
Use the console port for serial terminal connections to the GigaVUE CLI. Unless you
requested custom factory settings, the serial settings are 8N1, 115,200 bps.
Management Port
Standard 10/100/1000 RJ45 Ethernet ports support remote connections to the GigaVUE
CLI using Telnet/SSH.
Green LED shows link status; amber LED shows activity.
This port is also used in a cluster configuration to manage cluster traffic.
