Centrifuge Cover Interlock Latch

All COBE 2991s have a system of sensors that ensure the sliding covers are closed
before the machine can enter the Ready status. In addition, newer COBE 2991s
also have a centrifuge cover interlock latch. The centrifuge cover interlock latch
prevents the sliding covers from being opened while the centrifuge is spinning. See
“Centrifuge Cover Interlock Latch” on page 1-8.

The centrifuge cover interlock latch cannot be installed on COBE 2991s without a
centrifuge cover interlock latch.

Stainless Steel Tabletop and Exterior

Beginning with Serial Number 2728, the COBE 2991 has been manufactured with
a stainless steel tabletop. Additionally, some COBE 2991s have been manufactured
with an all-stainless steel exterior covering. Regardless of the type of exterior
covering material, all functions remain the same.
