Introduction
Alignment Blocks
The alignment blocks (shown in Figure 1-6) are two half-round blocks that support
and align the cell processing set’s rotating seal. The alignment blocks are held in
place by the centrifuge cover.

Centrifuge Cover Interlock Latch
The centrifuge cover interlock latch (Figure 1-7), which only exists on newer
machines, prevents the sliding covers (a) from being opened while the centrifuge is
spinning. It consists of a metal rod (b) with a knob and locking pins (c), and a
mechanism that locks the latch (d). The centrifuge cover interlock latch must be
closed before the centrifuge will operate.
