8. Adjust VR1 to obtain a reading of 100 mv, +/- 5 mv on the DVM.
9. Adjust the decade box to 4746 ohms, +/- 2 ohms. Record the voltage now observed on the DVM.
10. Connect the DVM + lead to T1-4.
11. Adjust VR2 until the DVM reading is the same as that recorded in Step 9 (+/- 10 mv)
12. Remove the jumper from J1 and disconnect test leads and jumper from T1.
13. The F-2000 calibration is complete. Reset the DIRECT/NORMAL switch to the normal position and
reassemble the F-2000.
7.12 Field Recalibration Procedure
1. Carefully remove the F-2000 case top leaving the fascia and battery compartment in place.
2. Open the battery compartment door and switch S3-3 to the “CAL” position. Close the door and replace the
battery compartment screw to hold the door closed during calibration.
3. Turn the F-2000 on. A value near the low calibration value of 89.5ºF (31.9ºC) should be displayed.
4. Adjust VR1 until the display reads 89.5ºF (31.9ºC).
5. Depress the pulse timer button. A value close to the high calibration value of 104.9ºF (40.5ºC) should be
displayed.
6. Adjust VR2 until the display reads 104.9ºF (40.5ºC).
7. Successive presses of the pulse button will toggle the low calibration and high calibration values into the
display.
NOTE: Calibration adjustments on one end of the range might throw off the other end. If you
make an adjustment at the high end, check the low end to ensure you are still in calibration. If
you make an adjustment on the low end, check the high end to ensure appropriate calibration.
8. Repeat these procedures, adjusting high end then low end, several times until you reach the desired readings
on both ends.
9. The F-2000 calibration is complete. Return 53-3 to the normal position and reassemble the thermometer.
