Rear Panel Switch Test
Push the START/STOP switch to start the test. Each LED digit will show the rear panel switch settings as
follows (“0” = OFF; “1” = ON).
The display of the rear switch settings can be found on the DIASTOLIC window of the model 8800MS and the
MEAN window of all other Press-Mate models. Example as shown:

The display of the settings of the Print Mode switch (if applicable) will be displayed in the PULSE window of the
model 8800MS and the DIASTOLIC window of all other Press-Mate Models. Example as shown:

On the LCD display, the lower two lines show the condition of the eight internal DIP switches (“0” = OFF; “1” =
ON). The top line of the LCD display reads out the last front panel sheet switch that was activated. Verify that
all sheet switch changes correspond to the LCD description.
To exit this test, press the START/STOP switch and the INTERVAL UP switch simultaneously.

Air Leakage Test
a. Attach the 220 cc dummy cuff to the cuff connector as shows in Figure 7.1. Attach shorting block
RS232.
b. Press the START/STOP switch to start the test. The dummy cuff will inflate to about 300mmHg.
c. The DIA indicator flashes with current pressure while the test is being conducted.
d. After one minute, the current pressure valve is displayed in the SYSTOLIC window. After one more
minute, it will subtract the current pressure in the DIASTOLIC window (MEAN window for model
8800 Press-Mates) from the one in the SYSTOLIC window to come up with the leaked
pressure, which will be displayed in the PULSE window (DIASTOLIC window for
model 8800 Press-Mates).
e. The acceptable range for the leaked pressure is < 3 mmHg.

The air leakage test is complete when the cuff can is totally deflated.
