Catalyst management
Your machine is programmed with different modes to manage various types of accumulation in the catalyst.
Active Catalyst Management (ACM)
This mode is fully executed by the engine controller. Active Catalyst Management happens automatically as
needed during vehicle operation. ACM does not affect vehicle performance. The engine low idle speed will be
slightly increased during ACM. While ACM is active, the fuel injection and exhaust flap control is modified to
increase the temperature of the exhaust. This increase in exhaust temperature is used to control:
○ De-sulfurization
○ Hydrocarbon management

○ Soot removal
Manual Catalyst Management (MCM)
This mode of operation is required to burn off excessive soot accumulation in the catalyst. The MCM process is
activated from the MCM page of the Maintenance section of the display. When the MCM process is required, a
message will be shown on the display. The MCM process is required immediately before performing an oil change.
Before activating the MCM process:
1. Place the machine in a safe area to accommodate hot exhaust prior to starting the Parked Catalyst Management.
2. Do not attempt to move or operate the machine during the process as this will abort the management cycle.
Failure to comply may cause damage to the exhaust system.
3. Verify the fuel level is at least half tank prior to starting the process.
