5 - TRANSPORT OPERATIONS

Traveling on public roads

CAUTION

Driving hazard!
Never drive on public roads with any mecha-
nisms engaged.
Failure to comply could result in minor or
moderate injury.

Unexpected machine movement!
Always engage the transport stops when
working around a raised header or when
transporting the machine on a public road.
Failure to comply will result in death or seri-
ous injury.

Check all levels and the tire inflation pressure.

Place the equipment within the overall dimensions of the
machine and raise the equipment from the ground only if
the height will not interfere with the maneuver.

Check the correct operation of all signal lights.

Some types of tire and thread are not suitable for traveling
on road: check with the tire manufacturer.

Consider the stopping distances and adjust the travel
speed of the vehicle accordingly.

Comply with all road regulations

WARNING

Driving hazard!
When traveling on public roads, only use the
headlights and hazard warning lights.

DO

NOT use the work lights. An oncoming vehi-
cle may confuse the rear work lights with the
headlights.
Failure to comply could result in death or se-
rious injury.

the prescriptions listed hereby could require ad-

justments or modifications as required by the road regu-
lations in effect in different countries.

In the event of slowing-down of the traffic, move the ma-
chine to the curb of the road.

After two hours on the road, stop the machine for 30 min-
utes and let the tires cool-off. When rolling, the tire pres-
sure increases. This is normal and it must not be de-
creased.

Check the instrumentation frequently to monitor its oper-
ation. Have an escort vehicle warning other road users of
your presence on the road with adequate signals (flash-
ing lights, boards etc.).

In the event a "rhythmical motion" occurs, it becomes nec-
essary to slow-down the machine with the brakes to stop
the phenomenon and resume traveling at a lower speed.
