MONITORING PERACETIC ACID LEVEL IN DISINFECTANT
The RAPICIDE™ PA High-Level Disinfectant (HLD) Peracetic Acid (PA) concentration should be tested after each
disinfection cycle. The RAPICIDE™ PA High-Level Disinfectant Test Strips are intended for use with RAPICIDE PA
High-Level Disinfectant. The use of a chemical indicator after the disinfection cycle ensures that the RAPICIDE PA
High-Level Disinfectant Solution is above the minimum recommended concentration (MRC) of 850ppm peracetic
acid. The test strip will verify that the retained disinfectant sample from the reprocessor’s sample port is above MRC.
For further instructions, see Complete the Disinfection Process under the Operations chapter.
ENDOSCOPE PRE-CLEANING AND TESTING
All endoscopes must be manually pre-cleaned prior to disinfection. Follow the endoscope manufacturer instructions
and established professional guidelines to properly pre-clean the endoscope.
Warning!
Endoscopes with elevator wire channels require additional manual
cleaning and disinfection steps.
Warning!
Perform a leak test (outside of the AER) on endoscopes prior to starting
disinfection procedures.
ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
The DSD EDGE™ Reprocessor meets all safety requirements of International standard IEC 60601-1-2 for medical
electric equipment and is suitable for use in laboratory environments.
Caution!
Portable and mobile communication devices can affect electrically-operated
medical equipment.
