Filter Group
filter
{ecs-1 10}
This attribute group provides the mechanism by which the NMS may create,
modify, or delete the ATX’s combination filters. A combination filter consists of
many tests that are simultaneously applied to a packet, to determine if the packet
should be filtered. Several combination filters may exist. Each combination filter
(i.e., each set of tests) is used sequentially, and the packet is filtered if any of the
combination filters determine that the packet should be filtered.
Two sequential series of combination filters may be created for any port. One
series is used for packets that are received by the specified port (these are known
as entry filters). The second series is used before transmitting packets out the port
(these are known as exit filters).
To read a port’s combination filters, the NMS must perform the following steps:
Step 1. Issue a GetRequest for filterCurrentCount to determine the total number
of combination filters that exist on the entire ATX.
