if the correct modes have not been set Follow the instructions in the „Operation - Remote
Control Pairing/Mode Selection“ section of this manual
Drive rollers slip on the wheels - Check that the distance between the rollers and the tyres is 20
mm on both sides Check the correct tyre pressure by referring to your caravan manufacturer‘s
manual If the pressure is too low, the roller must be pressed further into the tyre than usual to
achieve sufficient traction
Castors do not engage/disengage - Check the polarity of the engagement wiring (see relevant
wiring diagrams) If the motor works but does not start, first make sure that there is nothing
obstructing the motor If necessary, lubricate the motor and the frame to prevent stalling
MAINTENANCE
To prevent your battery from becoming completely discharged during prolonged periods of
non-use, it must be disconnected and recharged before being used again
Please check regularly that the rollers of the drive units are free from dirt or debris that has
accumulated during use/downtime
Please regularly check the distance between the rollers and the tyres In the neutral, fully disen-
gaged position, this must be 20 mm
If your caravan is parked for a longer period of time (eg over winter), it is recommended that
you remove the battery from the caravan Make sure you keep it charged so that it is in good
condition the next time you use it
Have your manoeuvring aid serviced and visually inspected once a year This inspection must
include all screw connections, cables and electrical connections as well as lubrication of the
moving parts/joints
It is advisable to regularly check that no cable connections have come loose on your manoeuv-
ring aid
In the event of prolonged inactivity, there is a risk that elements of the marshalling aid may
become loose This should be addressed by lubricating and removing oxidation if necessary
DO NOT use any form of pressurised water or chemical cleaning agents on your marshalling aid
When servicing your marshalling aid, be sure to disconnect the power supply as failure to do so
may result in electric shock
In the event of failures or problems, please contact Berger Customer Service
TROUBLESHOOTING
The manoeuvring aid does not work or moves irregularly Possible solutions are:
Remote control not paired - The LED of your electronic control unit flashes slowly and constant-
ly red and the LED of the remote control is permanently green to indicate the connection If this
is not the case, follow the appropriate pairing instructions in the Operation - Remote Control
Pairing / Mode Selection section of this manual
The remote control does not switch on - The batteries of the remote control might be empty If
the batteries are dead, replace them with two new 15 V AAA batteries
Caravan battery low/empty - Use a voltmeter to check that the caravan battery is fully charged
To work effectively, the battery voltage should be at least 128 V
Problem with the motor cable - Check all connections between the motor cables and the con-
trol unit to make sure they have not come loose
Problem with the battery cable - Check the battery terminals, clean them and reconnect them
Weak signal - Before operating the manoeuvring aid, make sure that the signal between the
control unit and the remote control is good The LED of the electronic control unit flashes red
slowly and constantly and the LED of the remote control lights up green to indicate the connec-
tion Make sure that your antenna (3) is properly connected and that the distance between the
remote control and the control unit does not exceed 5 m during operation
Remote control mode not set correctly - Under certain circumstances, the system will not work
