XGSM485 Installation - Warnings
XGSM485
should be positioned at least 1m away from sources of electromagnetic interference (ex.
transformers, power supplies, etc) and at the same time it should be the same distance away from
other equipment that can suffer from the electromagnetic radiation of the GSM, including the control
panel itself and its peripherals.
The
XGSM485
module can be installed using the mod.
CONT SX
box or, in alternative, using the
mod.
CONT SATW
box in case a backup battery is needed (max. 12V 2.1Ah)
If mod. CONT SX is used, place the electronic board as indicated in the figure on the right
If mod. CONT SATW is used, please follow the instructions contained in the XGSM485 manual.
Warnings:
• Do not place the antenna in metal containers.
• Do not place the antenna near radio devices, whether they are transmitters or receivers.
• Before mounting the container, check the GSM signal level.
How to proceed:
a. Both the battery and mains power supply must be off.
b. Break up the fitting on the CONT SX container.
c. Pass the antenna cable through the hole
d. Fix the XGSM485 to the CONT SX container
e. Insert the antenna and fix it by tightening the nut firmly.
f. Connect the antenna cable to the GSM module.
g. Switch on the control unit power supply.
To insert the SIM Card:
1. Open the slide support
2. Insert the SIM Card in the presetting
3. Close the slide support until completely
fixed
TAMPER XGSM485 and XGSM485 PRO
External TAMPER between TO and - (negative):
with this connection, opening of both the EXTERNAL TAMPER and the TAMPER BUTTON in the board
are signalled.
Jumper S3 in position 2-3
External TAMPER between TI and - (negative):
with this connection, only opening of the EXTERNAL TAMPER is signalled.
Jumper S3 in position 2-3
Bridge between TO and - (negative):
with this connection, only opening of the TAMPER BUTTON on the board is signalled.
Jumper S3 in position 2-3
With Jumper S3 in position 1-2 the TAMPER is disabled.
Terminals X1, X2, X3 operation (only XGSM485PRO)
The terminals X1, X2 and X3 can be configured as inputs for zones 1, 2 and 3 with single balancing (alarm only) or double balancing (alarm and
tamper), and as Open Collector outputs 1, 2 and 3 with negative reference; or both configurations at the same time (the line input is directly unba

Before inserting and removing the SIM Card,
completely remove power from the control panel.
Disable all call transfers
Deactivate the answering machine
Delete all SMS from the SIM
If the security PIN code of the SIM card is not disabled it must be entered in the corresponding input step of the panel
programming menu. If a wrong PIN code is entered, the panel will execute maximum two attempts to activate the XGSM
module then stop, and will keep it blocked until a new PIN code is programmed. An error message will be displayed.
