9.1 Filling the main tank
9.1.1 General recommendations
- Take particular care when filling the spray tank.
- Fill only as much liquid as necessary!
- Do not fill the tank beyond the maximum nominal size indication.
- When filling, pay attention to the different specific values of the liquids.

- Fill up so that nothing leaks out of the tank or splashes back.
- When filling the tank with tap water, do not immerse the hose in the tank if it is subsequently
used for other purposes.
- Pumping water from open water sources is allowed only with official permission, avoiding the
possibility of contamination of the water source. County and municipal regulations for water
source protection must be followed. Use a suction strainer with a fine filter.
- Make sure that the drain cock under the tank as well as the tank cap are closed before each
filling to avoid accidental spillage.
- To avoid excessive foaming during filling, do not add crop protection agent until the tank is
75% full. After filling the tank with crop protection agents, refill and mix. If problems occur,
an antifoaming agent can be added to the tank before filling with crop protection agents.
- Fill the hand wash tank and the fresh water tank with clean water only, as it is intended for
washing hands and, in an emergency, for washing the face.
9.1.2 Suction with the piston diaphragm pump
- Connect the suction hose to the quick coupling.
- Open the external filling tap.
- The suction tap must be closed.
- Turn the 5-way stopcock to "spray".
- No pressure (0 bar) must be present at the air pressure gauge and the control panel so that the
control valve remains fully open and the piston diaphragm pump fills more quickly.
- Switch on the piston diaphragm pump.
Attention!
The maximum permissible pump speed of 540 rpm must not be exceeded!
Switch off the pump when the desired level in the tank is reached.
Attention!
First close the tap and then remove the suction hose, because air suction by means of the pump
could cause foaming of the spray liquid and overflowing of the tank.
